Introduction
Jim: We are excited to introduce to you Anna Purdue, one of the Realtors on the Jim Archer Team. Anna started on our team as a Transaction Coordinator and decided to become a licensed agent. Congratulations for being our first agent spotlight! Before we start with all the real estate talk, share a little about your sweet family.
Anna: I met Kyle while we were going to Texas Tech, and he decided he liked Lubbock (and me) so much that he would stick around instead of going back to Dallas! We've been married for 13 years and we have 2 little boys, Eli & Owen.

Starting to Work in Real Estate
Jim: Now tell us a bit about what you did before Real Estate and how you made your way to real estate?
Anna: For over 8 years, I worked for a local health insurance company. While working in insurance, Kyle and I purchased a 10 acre tract of land. We planned on eventually building a house on the land, but before we could break ground we had an incredible offer that we couldn’t refuse. We sold the land and then we were able to pay cash for our very first rental house! When the health insurance company closed, I knew a job in real estate would be a great fit based on our years of experience with investment properties.
Defining Moments as an Agent
Jim: I remember being most impressed with you when she somehow got all parties to the closing table a few days early on a transaction with 3 separate VA loans. Getting any transaction with 3 parties involved to close on time is a challenge, so getting everybody to the finish line early blew my mind. This was one of the moments that I knew you were the real deal.
If there's one thing you would want your clients to know about working with you during a transaction, what would it be?
Anna: I am passionate about helping people! I love house hunting and searching for the perfect house that meets my clients’ needs. My experience in transaction coordination has been valuable in understanding the entire process and walking with my clients all the way to closing.

The 97%
Jim: At Steadfast, we believe in developing great agents who also invest in real estate themselves so that they can be well equipped to guide other investors to reach their goals. We call that emphasis on the agent investor the “97%.” Anna is a great example of an agent who looks for those “97%” opportunities.
What's your background as a real estate investor?
Anna: Seven years ago, we purchased our first rental property and we haven’t looked back since. Shortly after, we purchased another property that we quickly rehabbed and rented. We wanted to diversify our investments, so we began holding mortgages for families that are unable to obtain traditional financing. We currently have 9 properties and we’re excited to grow our portfolio. Right now we’re working on a full renovation, and I can’t wait to see the outcome AND get it rented!
Last Piece of Advice to New Agents
Jim: If you could give one piece of advice to someone considering the idea of working as an agent, what would it be?
Anna: Don’t give up! This job can be a rollercoaster of highs and lows, but that’s a big part of the excitement. The relationships I’ve formed and the amount of personal and professional growth I’ve experienced make this job so rewarding.
